Mathew Jinks

This week I have been moving into the new Jinks Pottery space with both trepidation and a sense of excitement. It’s amazing to be in my own studio room, to lay it out and make it what I want it to be, to clean and throw away accumulated rubbish and to have fun finding free pieces to bring in, like the G Plan shelves and the vintage Seiko £5 wall clock and the £10 Belfast sink :) I think to be fully honest with myself, I’m scared, I didn’t make anywhere near as much as I thought I would from...

It may be a little pre-emptive but this year has ended on a real high for my studio. It started in March with a new space in YoYo Yards, A blessing in itself, I hadn’t made pots in 2 years, then I met an Angel in Agnes and the universe provided through her a wheel and a kiln, and I answered by making work. My first fair at Towner (Eastbourne) was a wonderful community eye opener for me, my work was clunky and not yet on its feet. Then a near miss as I was very very nearly on this new season...
