Year:
2012
Location
Chicago, United States
Role

Project type
Audio
Melika Bass is a moving image artist who had been asked by Sigur Rós to create a music video for a track for their album, Vardeldur, as part of the Valtari Mystery Films project.
Due to my experience working on her previous films with production audio and post-mix mastering, Melika reached out for my support on this project.
As Assistant Producer, I created various click tracks in different time signatures to send to the performer who used them to practice the performance, which was later filmed.
To preserve the spontaneity of her performance, the performer was not allowed to hear the original Sigur Rós track before the live filming, so the click tracks enabled her to practice in varied time signatures, without revealing the full song.
I also supported with general production duties, including around the location, which was Al Capone's disused prohibition-era underground swimming pool in Chicago.
